Skate Park Dedication Event Includes Skateboard & Equipment Giveaway, Skate Clinic with Guest Host Vincent Alvarez
Like STIIIZY, skateboarding was born from a tight Southern California community whose shared passion spread to the world. On October 1, 2022, those shared SoCal roots paired with our dedication to supporting social impact and building confidence in community youth as STIIIZY partnered with Havalina Skate Co. to help bring a new skate park to the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Co-hosted by our friends at Havalina Skate Co, a non-profit helping underserved communities of L.A. discover the positive benefits of skateboarding, the new park’s dedication event hosted the students of Euclid Avenue and Lorena Street Elementary Schools for a skateboard giveaway and skate clinic with pro skater Vincent Alvarez, Blood In Blood Out Skateboards, and other community organizations dedicated to serving youth such as Watts Community Core. The skateboarding dedication event and clinic took place at Hopeland Church, where students from the local schools will be able to use the skate park.
Whether it’s through events like this or the release of our new skate deck line, STIIIZY is always looking for ways to both share our love for skating with the next generation and help strengthen the communities we serve.
“Both skating and cannabis have come a long way in overcoming negative stigmas over the years, and this feels like a celebration of that progress,” said STIIIZY President Tak Sato. “It feels good to be able to support Havalina Skate Co. in a project that so directly benefits a community in our hometown.”
